We get all sorts of questions asked us, so here is some of those answers.
Do you take card payments?
As of the 4th April 2019 The Old School Tea Rooms will accept all major credit and debit cards. The facility is contactless or chip and pin and you can also use mobile devices such as iPhone or NFC smartphones. We currently do not accept payments over the telephone.
How much is Afternoon Tea?
Afternoon Tea is £15 per person and must be booked in advance with a £5 deposit. You can book by calling us, emailing us or Facebook messenger.
What are the opening hours?
Monday to Friday 9-4, Saturday 10-3 and Sundays 10-2
Can I buy a voucher?
Yes you can see our staff at the Tea Rooms for the options of afternoon tea or money vouchers.
Does the Tea Room have car park facilities?
Yes there is ample around the Essington Community Centre site and it is free, at certain times of the day you may require a token to exit, please see our the staff for a token. On busier days parking on Hobnock Road which is right outside the building.
Do you do take away food?
We do, call us to order and collect, unfortunately we do not deliver. Menus are available on email just send us a message email@example.com
Can I sell my crafts in the craft centre?
This can be arranged separately to The Old School Tea Rooms and you would need to contact The Tea Room Crafters. Find them on Facebook on this link https://www.facebook.com/tearoomcrafters
I have a food intolerance can you cater for me?
Yes we can, we very often make gluten free cakes, vegan cakes and dairy free products. Plus we can ensure other intolerances are addressed. Please speak to our staff and we can make arrangements for your meal or booking.
Why is it called The Old School Tea Rooms?
The original building was the Brownshore School, first opened in 1911 As a primary school which closed in 1984 the school was local to many children who of our now our customers. There are various books available to view in the Tea Rooms of the history of the Old School.
